The Bulgarian Soirée
The Bulgarian Soirée on March 20th, 2014 was such a pleasant celebration. French Cultural Center with the support of Violeta Jeliazkova, director of the Bulgarian American Center Madara celebrated Bulgaria for its 2014 Francophonie Celebration in New England!
Bulgaria, an active member of the International Organization of La Francophonie, has a long-standing tradition of political, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation with France. Bulgaria participates actively in developing Francophonie in the world, ranking as the second largest country in Central and Eastern Europe teaching French. Today, nearly 10,000 students attend bilingual secondary schools and universities.
The soirée began by a folkloric dance performance by the charming ensemble Ludo Mlado, followed by a fun dance workshop led by the ensemble’s accomplished choreographer Peter Petrov. In the gallery, a one-night art exhibition by Bulgarian artist Nelly Tonchev illustrated in such a unique way rituals and customs practiced throughout the Balkans. And to make this celebration complete, traditional Bulgarian appetizers provided by Find BG Food have been served while live music by Alex Stoyanov Trio and singer Nevena Bentz brought elegance and energy to the night.
Thank you all for being part of the event and sharing the joy with us.
Thank you to the French Cultural Center team for the great idea and organization.
We are looking forward to expend our partnership.
